Climate Finance for Education: From Learning to Action - Session 2

  • London, England United Kingdom (map)

Education is central to climate resilience. Climate shocks are increasingly disrupting schools and learning, while their effects extend to future skills, economic growth and communities’ capacity to adapt. Yet education actors often lack clear, practical guidance on how to position sector priorities within climate finance processes.

Drawing on lessons from the Climate-Smart Education Systems Initiative, this webinar will launch a new climate finance explainer for education. It will help ministries of education and development partners understand key financing mechanisms, assess which pathways are most relevant to their context, and identify practical steps towards mobilizing resources for education sector resilience and adaptation.

The webinar will combine concise expert inputs, practical country examples and moderated questions and answers. Participants will respond to poll questions and record their answers in a downloadable worksheet, using each segment to build a preliminary picture of the climate finance opportunities, priorities and next steps relevant to their context.

By the end of the webinar, participants will have identified the climate finance sources most relevant to their work, assessed which enabling conditions need attention in their context, and recorded one practical next step for pursuing climate finance for education.
