Education and training institutions must urgently strengthen strategies to address environmental and interlinked societal challenges — particularly land degradation, biodiversity loss, and climate change. This interactive session brings together speakers from diverse educational perspectives, from students to international education networks, to reflect on lessons — successes, failures, and emerging innovations — in deploying environmental education to mainstream Rio Conventions outcomes.
Participants will explore how these frameworks are being translated into transdisciplinary curricula, vocational training, youth empowerment, and civil society programs through Open Educational Resources (UNESCO, 2019) and beyond. Attendees will leave equipped to connect with inspiring initiatives and networks committed to locally grounded, action-oriented education for land.
