Gaming in the Classroom for Sustainable Development

On Saturday, February 4th at 2pm GMT, Global Schools will host Rocio Millan from Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Alba Rodriguez, Director of Innovation and Education Technology from Possible Lab. They will lead a session and demonstrate a practical application for using Minecraft in the classroom. They will present “Planet Rescuers”, a free educational video game on energy and sustainability. Through this game, students embark on a journey through the popular Minecraft Education universe with a single destination: a sustainable world. “Planet Rescuers” teaches students about CO2 emissions in the atmosphere; different energy sources; how a wind turbine works; how electricity works; the design of an efficient system for supplying and consuming electricity in a city; the importance of the Paris Agreement; and how to produce hydrogen. Join us to discuss this exciting topic and hear from two incredible STEM education experts!
