Global learning in the UK: Past, present and futures

The event will bring together diverse professionals from across the UK who are interested in transformational educational approaches, providing a valuable moment to reflect on the importance of global learning within the current global context and, crucially, serve as a springboard for future research, collaboration, and innovation.

In addition to presentations from experts from across the sector, the event will present opportunities for interactivity, input and networking, facilitating dialogue between academic researchers, policymakers, NGO educators, teachers and other practitioners.

Event goals

  • Reflect on the recent history of development of Global Learning in the UK, including the major research, projects and policies.

  • Showcase active  projects and initiatives around the UK.

  • Facilitate networking and new partnerships between academic researchers, policymakers, NGOs and practitioners.

  • Discuss the importance of the Case for Global Learning, and other advocacy work, for policymakers and practitioners.

  • Identify areas for future research in the field of global learning and related areas.

  • Celebrate 20 years of impactful teaching, educational projects and research  at the Development Education Research Centre.
