We are continually hearing that our students need to be better informed about the climate and the changes happening around them. But with a jam-packed curriculum, constant assessments or fixed lesson plans, this can be an overwhelming task to include yet another area to teach! And for many people, talking to our young people about the climate can be a difficult conversation to have.
This workshop will look at practical solutions to include more sustainability in your curriculum.
We will walk through the barriers to introducing sustainability into learning, how we can overcome them, and, no matter what your role may be, how you can lead in introducing more awareness to staff and students.
Key focuses:
Why having a focus on sustainability in the curriculum is so important. Why a thorough climate education is so important
What a great curriculum could look like (WAGOLL)
How to include more sustainability
We hope you take away some great ideas as to where you can start and what is possible in and around curriculum time. Learning about the planet shouldn't be left to geography and science lessons, so let's work together to find time and space to expand student learning.
There will be time for you to ask the team questions in break out rooms so please register to attend.
We look forward to having you attend the event!
