Students, teachers and leaders from education systems around the world, will be joined by policy makers, artists, leaders from business, industry and development sectors and climate experts. Through carefully curated engagements over three days, around 170 delegates will confront the systems failures underpinning the current polycrisis and together chart a course to a better, more peaceful and more sustainable future.

Through critical friendship, dialogue, experiential learning, creative practice and deep reflection, we will explore how education can become an act of peacebuilding, democratic renewal, ecological responsibility and human regeneration.

Together, we will:

• regenerate trust and strengthen social cohesion

• sustain and deepen democracy and courageous dialogue

• address difficult issues of identity, belonging and intergenerational trauma

• connect ecological and climate responsibility with peace, equality and democratisation

• develop and enthuse active, hopeful and informed citizenship

• equip young people to shape the future of a world worth inheriting

The region’s experience of conflict and peacebuilding provides a powerful setting to examine education’s role in rebuilding trust, strengthening communities and enabling young people to shape their futures.

Our provocation: if you're not in a conflict or post-conflict context, you’re in a pre-conflict context.

The Summit is being co-created by Parkhall Integrated College, Campbell College, the Integrated Education Fund, Queen’s University Belfast, Younited International School and SusEd. It builds on the Younited/SusEd International Education for Peace Summit in March 2026, and draws  on SusEd’s international convening expertise in sustainability and peace over 11 years, across Asia, Africa, Europe, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and North America.

We are reserving places for 23 schools, universities and organisations from Northern Ireland and across our international network. Schools are encouraged to send a delegation of five: a principal or senior leader, an operational or sustainability leader, a champion teacher and two students aged 16 or above.

We remain flexible to reflect each organisation’s context and enable broad representation.
