The IOERC is organized once every two years and brings together researchers and practitioners in the broad field of outdoor education. The event provides opportunities to share findings, build networks and develop concrete ways to help make society more environmentally and social just through outdoor teaching and learning.
Humanity is currently facing some of its greatest challenges: climate change and biodiversity loss; growing economic and social inequality (and the conflicts that stem from it); and declining physical, mental, and social well-being. While conference abstracts on any aspect of outdoor education are welcome, presenters are especially encouraged to submit work that explores how outdoor education research can help address these global issues.
