This session will develop understanding of how the cross-curricular theme of Learning for Sustainability can be embedded into your curriculum and daily practice. We will outline the context, themes and key ideas of Global Citizenship, reflecting on its value in the classroom and sharing good practise amongst practitioners. The training will include key methodologies to support this approach in the classroom, as well as planning tools, invitations to explore IDL at secondary level and signposting of a breadth of resources to support teachers.
This webinar is for secondary teachers of all subjects.
In this session, teachers will:
Explore the main ideas, context and value of Global Citizenship.
Share good practise and connect with other teachers.
Explore practical methodologies and resources to support adopting a Global Citizenship approach to the classroom.
Support taking action and extending a Global Citizenship approach beyond the classroom.
Our courses are highly interactive, both to model the participatory global citizenship approach, and also so we can introduce activities and methodologies for use in the classroom. This course will make use of breakout rooms and simple digital participation tools (all necessary instructions will be given). It can be hard to participate fully on a phone or tablet, so we highly recommend you join the course on a desktop or laptop computer, with your microphone and video enabled.
If you have particular access needs, please contact us at helen@scotdec.org.uk so we can work together to create as positive an experience for you as we can.
We have designed this course to be engaging, relevant and thought-provoking. Please join the course in a reasonably quiet place if possible, and do what you can to bring your full participation and focus to the session.
