  • Paris, IDF France (map)

A Shared Vision for Higher Education

The Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI) is a partnership between UN entities and the higher education community, co-chaired by UN DESA, UN University, UNESCO IESALC, and the Sulitest Association. Through its Communities of Practice (CoPs), HESI fosters collaboration, knowledge exchange, and action-oriented solutions, to advance sustainability in higher education.

On the occasion of the launch of the Expandia project, supported by the French government and aiming to train 6,000 faculty members, HESI will co-host this event. Led by Sulitest (leader of the Expandia project) and in collaboration with the HESI CoP “Teaching & Learning”, the session will explore how to scale up faculty training and make sustainability a cornerstone of higher education worldwide.

The agenda includes:

    • Jonghwi Park - HESI Co-Chair and Academic Programme Officer, Head of Innovation and Education, UNU

    • Noah Sobe - Chief of Section for Higher Education, UNESCO

    • Pierre-Henry Dodart - Sustainability Education Policy Officer, French Ministries of Ecology, Energy and Territories

  • A fishbowl discussion facilitated by John North (GRLI), to explore innovative approaches with four key experts:

    • Adeline Ochs - Professor, Audencia

    • Usha Iyer-Raniga - Chair of the ProSPER.Net, UNU
