UNECE 2026 Regional Forum on Sustainable Development

  • Palais des Nations 14 Avenue de la Paix Genève, GE, 1202 Switzerland (map)

The 2026 RFSD will take place in Geneva on 21–22 April 2026 under the theme “Transformative, Equitable, Innovative, and Coordinated Actions for the 2030 Agenda – Towards a Sustainable Future for All.”

This year’s Forum will review SDG 6 (water and sanitation), SDG 7 (energy), SDG 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure), SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities), and SDG 17 (partnerships).

Education for Sustainable Development continues to be one of the most powerful drivers of systemic transformation—strengthening sustainable mindsets, enabling green skills, and supporting resilient and inclusive societies across the UNECE region.

What is the process?

Each year, the RFSD serves as the region’s official input to the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, the UN’s main platform for global follow-up on the 2030 Agenda. The report from the 2026 RFSD will document regional progress, challenges, and policy recommendations, contributing to the HLPF’s overarching review of SDG progress worldwide.

How can you get engaged?

The 2026 Regional Forum will take place on 21 and 22 April 2026 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva in person (no remote connections) and will provide an opportunity to network on sustainable development issues. More detailed information on the programme, registration and logistics will be made available in due course.
