A Year of Global Learning and Collective Imagination

As this year comes to a close, our friends at Ages of Globalization want to express their gratitude for the curiosity, energy, and imagination you brought into classrooms and learning spaces across the world. Thanks to you, the Ages of Globalization community has grown in remarkable ways. Together we have explored complex issues, connected across cultures, and helped young people see themselves as active contributors to a shared global future.

I am delighted and honored that The Ages of Globalization has had such an enthusiastic uptake during its first year. In the hands of creative teachers and students, AoG has proven to be more than just a curriculum. The many wonderful users are engaging with AoG as a platform for reimagining education in the 21st century. By placing young people at the heart of the learning process, AoG is helping students to discover the roots of today’s global challenges, connect across cultures and histories, and take meaningful action in their communities and beyond. Together with young people, educators, and partners, we are aiming now to build a global learning community that connects history to action and that helps to redefine what education can achieve in the face of planetary challenges.
— Prof. Jeffrey Sachs, President, UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network & Columbia University Professor

We invite you all to revisit some of the highlights from this year here.

As we step into the new year, we are excited about the opportunities ahead to grow and strengthen our global learning community.

In January, we’ll kick off the year with a UN at Your Doorstep Dialogue on Peace & Security as part of the Learning Planet Festival, where young people, educators, and leaders can engage in meaningful conversations and access a dedicated learning resource for building peaceful, just, and resilient societies.

From February to April, we will hold a special AoG live lecture series with Professor Jeffrey Sachs. This series will connect learners and educators in higher education across the world, offering opportunities to engage deeply with global challenges through thought-provoking content and live discussions.

We look forward to seeing you there. Thank you for being part of this global learning community!
