Beyond the syllabus: Embedding sustainability into the larger learning journey

  • Indonesia Convention Exhibition 1 Jalan BSD Grand Boulevard Banten, 15339 Indonesia (map)

Higher education institutions play a critical role in preparing graduates to become agents of a sustainable world.

This interactive session of the GSDC, organised by the HESI Student Action Group (HESI-SAG), explores how sustainability competencies can be developed throughout the entire student journey, not just in the classroom. Participants, including educators, programme directors and students, will examine how orientation, campus life, internships and intercultural experiences can be intentionally designed to foster sustainability literacy. Through panel discussions and collaborative breakout groups, attendees will map key student moments, align them with formal learning goals, and cocreate strategies to integrate sustainability across disciplines and daily campus life.
