Freie Universität Berlin, in collaboration with the European University Alliance Una Europa, is hosting this three-day conference on Sustainability in Higher Education: Between Transformation and Vibe Shifts from September 21 to 23, 2026 at Campus Dahlem.

Freie Universität Berlin invites scientists, researchers, and practitioners from universities and Una Europa partners; political and civil society experts; and partners from schools and municipal initiatives working in sustainability to present and discuss their current research and project results and formulate recommendations for the upcoming years.

With around 34,400 students, 4,730 staff members, and over 230 buildings, Freie Universität Berlin is an international network university committed to all aspects of sustainability, including research, education, campus management, and transfer. This whole-institution approach is also how we organize the conference program. The program consists of three days of keynote speeches from renowned experts, presentations from Una Europa partner universities representatives, and workshops that encourage intensive interdisciplinary exchange. The program also includes excursions and opportunities for networking, fostering a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment.
